Supporting the Next Generation of Aerospace and Defence Professionals
The SkyAlyne Indigenous Scholarship program is designed to help break down barriers to higher education and support Indigenous students pursuing careers connected to the FAcT program and the broader aerospace, aviation and defence sectors. Through financial assistance for expenses such as tuition and/or living costs, this scholarship program aims to help students focus on building the skills and experiences needed to contribute to Canada’s future aviation and defence workforce. In-line with FAcT program requirements, Indigenous students from the provinces of Manitoba and Saskatchewan, in which the FAcT program sites are located are prioritized, however Indigenous students across Canada will be considered and are encouraged to apply.
To be considered for the SkyAlyne Indigenous Scholarship program, applicants must:
- Demonstrate financial need in support of their educational goals
- Identify as an Indigenous person (note: Indigenous persons from Saskatchewan and Manitoba will be given preference)
- Be enrolled in a field of study aligned with the FAcT program, and those fields that are related to or supporting careers in aerospace, aviation or defence.

Eligible Fields of Study
Applicants may be enrolled in any field of study from the variety of fields that lead to or support these career paths or contribute to overall FAcT operations. Examples of relevant career paths include, but are not limited to:
- Flight Instructor (FI)
- Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (AME)
- Air Traffic Controller (ATC)
- Courseware Developer
Eligible fields of study may include fields that prepare individuals for these roles or otherwise support careers in the aerospace, aviation or defence sectors.
