SkyAlyne parent company CAE has been on a roll lately.
Earlier this month, the Montreal-headquartered company announced they were acquiring L3Harris Technololgies’ military training business, significantly expanding CAE’s already impressive position in the US military simulation & training space.
And now, CAE’s Defence & Security division has revealed it has been awarded a U.S. Air Force contract to train Irish Air Corps at the Dothan Training Center in Alabama, USA.
Under terms of this contract, CAE USA will be responsible for managing and delivering military pilot training to Irish Air Corps students over the next 18 months, once again proving CAE is the worldwide training partner of choice for allied and partner militaries.
Phase 1 training will take place in Pensacola, Florida at SkyWarrior Flight Training Inc., a small business partner subcontracted by CAE USA to provide an Air Force-approved initial flight training (IFT) program. Students will then progress to Phase 2 primary flight training at CAE’s Dothan Training Center in Alabama. During Phase 2 training, students will receive academic, simulator, and live-flying training in CAE-owned and operated Grob G120TP aircraft. Student pilots will also leverage CAE’s innovative pilot training offerings such as the CAE Trax Academy and CAE Sprint Virtual Reality (VR) immersive training device.
“We already train U.S. Army, Navy, and Air Force pilots at the CAE Dothan Training Center so we are excited to welcome the Irish Air Corps as the first international students to our state-of-the-art training facility,” said Ray Duquette, President and General Manager, CAE USA. “Many militaries around the world may be looking for initial and primary pilot training options and leveraging our existing infrastructure and syllabus can be a cost-effective alternative to establishing a homegrown pilot training program.”
The SkyAlyne Team – the only all-Canadian solution for the Future Aircrew Training (FAcT) Progam – counts CAE as a parent company and founding member. SkyAlyne is truly unmatched in its experience and expertise in delivering military aircrew training. Already trusted by militaries around the world to deliver excellent training and in-service support, Canada’s military pilots and aircrew would continue to benefit from a home-grown training and support solution that is exportable to our friends and allies around the world and returns all economic benefits back to Canada.
